Calhoun Square Apartments
Temple, TX
This quaint, three-story, 19,000 square foot building from the 1950s was in sad shape when we first encountered it. The adjacent church sanctuary had burned to the ground, leaving this education building with extensive water damage. It had sat empty and rotting for several years.
The Central Texas Housing Consortium bought the building in 2019 to adapt for affordable homes for the elderly, bringing nice, new housing to downtown Temple. Quorum’s design team accomplished our client’s goals, created 18, one- and two-bedroom apartments for seniors and the building was saved from destruction.
