Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center
This 14,000 square foot animal shelter and adoption center features a State of the Art facility. This facility is located in a high traffic area adjacent to recreational sport fields and lake with walking trails. During the design phase, staff requested that Quorum design something to be much more than just an animal shelter. They wanted this space to be a destination place for families and volunteers to feel invited to use the space to spend time with the animals. This was accomplished by having entry plaza lead its visitors into a large multi-use lobby, large meeting/training room, multiple Get To Know Court yards and indoor play rooms. Separation of animals were taken in to consideration during the design, in relation to healthy adoptable animals leaving out the front door vs animals being dropped off by citizen that could be sick or aggressive, as well as housing of Adoptable, Stray, Isolation and Quarantine animals.
We are very pleased and proud of this project. David Duman and his team
did an excellent job in planning, designing, and consulting throughout
construction on our great facility.
